Find out more about us further down this page. LATEST I've posted a video for you on the blog. I hope you all enjoy the long holidays; or is it enough to just survive until September? Anyhow, good luck to one and all! Go to BLOG HPCF Who we are: We are a group of parents and carers of children with disabilities, aged 0 -19 years living in Huntingdonshire, on the Western edge of Cambridgeshire. Hunts Parent Carer Forum was formed in January 2002 by parents and carers. We are all volunteers. We hold regular training sessions and talks on subjects of interest to members, and provide opportunities for parents and carers to meet socially. Our newsletter is circulated to parents, carers, interested professionals and voluntary organisations working with children with disabilities and their families. Our aims are to: · Build a network of parents and carers of children with disabilities (aged 0 -19 years) to offer support, advice and information. · Be a representative for the concerns and issues raised by parents, carers and children with disabilities · Work in close partnership with statutory agencies (i.e. health, social services, education) and the voluntary sector to help improve communication and information between all parties concerned · Provide information and workshops to enable parents and carers to access the services available and, when possible, to provide relevant training on social skills, personal hygiene, behaviour management, sexuality and any other subjects identified · Build a register of willing and able parents and carers to act as delegates for the group on parental representation panels / committees held by the statutory agencies and provide the appropriate training and support where necessary and if applicable. · Build links with other parent run groups concerned with children with disabilities within the Huntingdonshire area. All personal information is confidential and will not be shared with anyone else. If at any time you wish to have your details removed from our database then please contact us.
